Jason Wilton Wetzel - Retired Army Historian

Jason Wilton Wetzel most recently worked as a United States army historian for the Department of Defense, where he served as deputy director and executive officer for the Office of Army Reserve History at Fort Bragg until his retirement in 2016. In this role, he conducted staff rides and directed living history and community outreach programs. Jason Wilton Wetzel also worked with the National Museum of Army Reserve and was a certified instructor for military history detachments. Previously he served as a field historian for the United States Army at Fort McPherson and as director of education at the National Museum of Patriotism. A former Maryland high school teacher and coach, Jason Wetzel functioned as director of character education for the Georgia Department of Education for four years and held the title of associate director of character education for the Georgia Humanities Council. He has a bachelor of science in history from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a master of arts in education and history from Georgia State University.
